Menuki/Gimlet intro

((I used to play as Menuki, a female Hume, in FFXI. Constant speculation as to my real life gender made it extremely hard to RP and I soon gave up. Menuki will be recreated in FFXIV (I hope the name is free) but is unlikely to be my first character; first up im going to play a Lalafell male named Gimlet specializing in mining and blacksmithing.))

Menuki: "Why don't you introduce yourself to the group Gimlet?"

Gimlet doesn't seem to hear Menuki; He is completely preoccupied with skecthing out a lantern shield schematic in charcoal on the flagstones.

Menuki stifles a giggle and leans down so that she is at his eye level: "Gimlet!"

Startled, Gimlet jumps to his feet. Small metal tools cascade out of his lap.

Gimlet: "oh, ahhh, Hi? Sorry. My name is Gimlet."

Gimlet bows, more tools chime against the flagstones.

Gimlet, smiling shyly: "Pleased to meet you all."

Menuki places a reassuring hand on the white haired Lalafell's shoulder: "Why don't you tell everyone a little bit about yourself?"

Gimlet: "Well, I come from a big family of farmers, but I hate animals. When I was a kid I was always playing with rocks and exploring caves while the others were off milking the Aldgoats. My family didn't know what they were going to do with me until a traveling Roegadyn blacksmith stopped by the farm. I helped him forge my father a new scythe and he offered me an apprenticeship. My parents were so relieved. Since then my life has been all about metal, and I've loved every minute of it."

((heheh this reminds me of a Japanese school when they have to intro themselves in front of a class. Was very vivid . . .Welcome.))
